THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF THE CITIZENS OF SAN DIEGO AND CO-OPERATION WITH THE CITY PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE FACILITIES WHERE HORTICULTURAL GROUPS CAN MEET AND HAVE SHOWS TO DISPLAY THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THESE GROUPS WE HAVE ESTABLISHED A RESEARCH BOTANICAL LIBRARY.
ALL OF THESE ACCOMMODATIONS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

There are many shows through out the year. All of these shows are free to the public and provide knowledge on their specific subject. The shows open by noon on Saturday to 4:00 Sunday from 10:00 to 4:00

Hello Casa del Prado User Group Representatives,
I am contacting you to let you know that a re-roofing project is beginning at the Casa del Prado and is expected to be complete by April 6, 2012.
During this time period, the existing roof material will be removed and replaced at the Casa del Prado building, arcades and Theater.
This City project will ensure a leak-free building for many years to come and is needed as we have numerous problem areas that you may have observed. The contractor is currently staging for the job and demolition is tentatively scheduled to begin January 16.
A hot-tar kettle will be used for approximately 13 weeks of the project and will produce odors outside and from the roof application. The roof areas will be divided by sections and worked on at different times .
During this process, the heating and air condition system cannot be used as it will draw the odors inside. I am looking into portable heater and fans.
As for the Theater, I am looking at the show schedules and identifying the times where only set-up and possibly rehearsals area taking place. Please let me know if 2/21 – 3/1 and 3/19 – 3/27 are available for this purpose.
The patios will also be impacted by the job as area is needed for staging.
I will have more information available after the staging plan is completed. I appreciate your cooperation in advance. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. I will communicate information as it becomes available.
